Just away on holiday from Sunday 3 December and back on Friday. All orders will be sent out on Friday 8 December, or 11 December - many thanks :)
Have tea or coffee stained cups??
*Remove by putting salt onto a sponge and rub the stained area gently.
*For stubborn stains mix white vinegar with the salt in equal parts and rub with a sponge.
Make your own Paint with ingredients from your kitchen (non-toxic)
1 cup table salt (don't make my mistake of using seasalt as mix ends up too lumpy)
1 cup plain flour
1 cup water
Mix flour and salt into a bowl. Slowly stir in water preferably using a whisk, then mix well. Divide mix into as many different bowls and you want colours. Add food colouring to suit what colour you want to achieve. Voila! Non-toxic paint for the kids for hours of fun. Keep paint in a sealed air tight container - I used some old takeaway type plastic containers. Paint will keep for weeks, just needs a stir before each use.
Sorry for the terrible photo, this was the best of a bad bunch. After taking them and packing up everything I found that I had little finger prints all over my camera lens. Good excuse to make up more paint real for Master 3 and put up a better pic.
Fantastic easy recipe great for handmade gifts, anyone who loves a bath and a really great recipe for kids to make as well.
1 cup Baking Soda (Bicarbonate of Soda)
1/2 cup Citric Acid (available from supermarkets)
1/2 - 1 1/2 teaspoons Water (if you have a fine mist sprayer this works best to help prevent mix from fizzing)
15 drops of essential oil -optional
Few drops of colouring -optional (I used mica, can use food colouring)
Molds -plastic or silicone are best (plastic/silicone cupcake cases work well - I used some old chocolate making molds I had)
Sift baking soda and citric acid into a large mixing bowl. If adding essential oil add now and mix well with a spatular. If adding food colouring add now and mix in fast to aviod fizzing. Add 1/2 tsp of water at a time mix fast and well to avoid fizzing, you may only need 1/2 tsp or you may need upto 1 1/2 tsp water depending on the mix -if adding essential oil and food colouring etc. Note: The mix needs to be fairly dry not too wet but able to be to be pressed into some sort of mold. If you have a sprayer for the water this works best -spray a small amount at a time. Leave for 15 mins then press mix into molds (note if you mix does fizz leave for 30-60 minutes before putting into molds). Leave in molds for a couple hours then carefully remove from molds. Leave bath fizzes out in a cool dry area to dry overnight. Store in a air tight container. Now you can either use the bath fizzes or package up as gifts.
12 drops Lavender essential oil
18 drops Lemon essential oil
100mls distilled water
100ml bottle (recommend amber glass bottle with a mist spray)
Put distilled water into a bottle. Add both essential oils and shake bottle with lid on to mix. Shake bottle before each use. If not using a bottle with a mist spray apply with a cotton pad. Note: always patch test any recipe first on a small area of skin before using.
Tea Tree Oil
Natural anti-bacterial and all sorts of other properties too. All 20 drops to a spray bottle filled with water to use to wipe benches -just spray and leave for 20 mintes before wiping, also spray shower floor after use if someone has athletes foot.
Add a few drops of oil to a cloth nappy wash.
Nits/headlice hate tea tree oil.
Rosehip oil makes a great eye treatment, why pay $40 odd dollars for a eye cream when you can use a few drops of rosehip oil for only $13.95. A combination of potent active ingredients and 100% natural formula make it highly effective for skin concerns including ageing skin, dehydration, and uneven skin tone. Rosehip oil is rich in skin-loving nutrients that help improve your overall skin condition: Omega 3 and Omega 6 Essential Fatty Acids: vital lipid compounds that moisturise dry skin and improve skin softness and elasticity. Beta-carotene: key nutrient for maintaining healthy skin and assisting in skin cell renewal and repair. Helps to repair skin suffering from the effects of sun damage and lifestyle stresses. Wow, all that is one little bottle of oil.
Need to relax?
Pure essential Lavender oil has long been recognised to help calm and relax. Add a couple of drops to a tissue and put under your pillow for a great night sleep, or add a few drops to a warm bath, or oil burner.
