How to make liquid soap from soapnut berries:
Crush 50gms of berries then add to 4 cups of water. Bring to the boil then simmer for 10minutes. Cool liquid and strain/remove shells –can be composted. Add 2 teaspoons of Xanthum Gum or 3-4 teaspoons of Guar Gum to liquid to help thicken. Optional add 10 drops of your favourite essential oil. This recipe does not contain a preservative so it will only be good for about a week. If you want the liquid soap to last months you will need to add a preservative. Makes aprox 1 litre.
